You know that I have a lot Kerala traditional Prawn Recipes in my website. Yes! From my childhood I love to consume prawn and fish items in curry or fry forms. So my mom always gives me a bit more preference over my other sisters during the serving time. π Sometimes without any feeling she offers her portion to me, for fulfill my greed. Poor mom! She sacrifice so much for me.
Time flies, now I am a mother of two and I want to cook and serve for my kids too. Unfortunately they are not like me in character, they only fall in love with seafood fried items so that I can’t share my prawn and fish curry with them π but most of the time I only get a single piece prawn fry π or fried fish’s bone part etc. π Poor me! how to face this worse situation? π I have to hold on in order to survive π “Panni Pashuvin paalil thane kitti” alle? π Hmmm I don’t think so π from as a daughter, daughter in law and a mother I learned that “a real mother is someone she puts her child above their own selfish needs and wants, without any feelings” π So love and treat your children as per their taste. Ingredients For Prawn Masala Fry Kerala Style

Ginger | 1 Inch | Skinned and Chopped |
Garlic | 3 Fat Cloves | Skinned and Chopped |
Shallots/Small Onion | 4 to 5 | Skinned and Chopped |
Curry leaf | 5 to 6 leaves | |
Chilly Powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Turmeric Powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Meat Masala/Garam Masala/Erachi masala Powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | I used homemade meat masala Powder |
Pepper Powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Lime Juice | 1 Teaspoon | |
salt | As per Your Taste | |
Coconut oil | For Shallow Fry Prawns |
Method For Prawn Masala Fry Kerala Style
β’ In a mixer jar, place ginger, garlic, shallots and curry leaves. Grind and make a paste form. Keep aside.
β’ In a mixing bowl, place cleaned prawns, spices,lemon juice, grind paste and salt. Combine well.
β’ Freeze the marinated prawns overnight or at least 3 to 4 hours.
β’ When before its frying time keep it in a room temperature and defrost.
β’ Heat oil in a frying pan, place masala covered prawns one by one.
β’ Shallow fry it until both sides brown and crispy. Serve hot and enjoy π
Notes and Tips
Adjust spices as per your taste.
Do not over fry/cook prawns,it will be lost its original taste.
Try to use coconut oil, for its traditional taste
